It's time for another Save vs. Splurge! I love doing these and finding affordable options for items that can be more expensive.
With decor, I feel you can really find affordable options that look so similar to the more expensive ones. I refuse to spend 100's of dollars on a mirror. I just won't. I would rather spend that money on a nice rug or towards a nice sofa. Therefore, I try to find inexpensive options for these items. I've found some saves and some splurges. Let's see if you can tell the difference!
Faux Fiddle Leaf Tree
I've seen these everywhere. All over Instagram and Pinterest. However, they can be expensive. So, I took on the challenge to find a faux fiddle leaf tree that won't hurt my wallet. Which one is the save and which is the splurge?
These trees look identical. Which do you think is more expensive? What if I told you one was from Walmart and one was from Joss and Main. Well, the one on the left is $114.99 from Joss and Main and the one on the right is $79.53 from Walmart! Can you believe the price difference? They look so similar, I don't know why I wouldn't get the less expensive one.
Mirrors can be used in a lot of ways. They can be used for wall decor and they also work well over a mantle or just in a bedroom or bathroom. I've found two similar mirrors to compare.
Both of these mirrors are square and have a wood frame look. One of these mirrors costs $49.99 and one costs $149.99. Can you tell which is which? One is from Target and one is from Crate and Barrel. The one on the left is $149.99 from Crate and Barrel and the one on the right is $49.99 from Target. It's part of their new line, Project 62.
Next is a simple accessory for your kitchen. A classic white pitcher is a must, in my opinion. It's perfect for lemonade or tea or even just ice water. I use mine a lot and love it. Here are two similar ones I found.
One of these pitchers costs $34.99 and the other costs $13.99. Can you guess which is more expensive? The one on the left is $13.99 from Target and the one on the right is $34.99 from Kohl's (Food Network brand). I have the one from Target and I love it!
I love that I can get an expensive look while still keeping a happy wallet (and a happy husband ;) ). I hope these comparisons helped you! I would love to hear what you think! Where do you shop to get your saves?
