Fall Decor Picks {Etsy}

I wanted to round up some of my favorite ways to add fall decor and I decided to find all my picks on Etsy. It's so nice to be able to purchase items from small business and be able to support those small business through Etsy. Here is what I found.

I love pillows, not just in the fall but all year round. Adding pillows is an easy way to change up your decor from season to season. The pillows I picked are perfect for fall.

Wooden signs are so popular right now. There are so many creative designs. I love these signs with "happy fall", "give thanks", and "gather". When you look at them you immediately think fall.

Candles are another popular item right now. They have a dual purpose, they add style to your decor and they smell great! I love these I found on Etsy that really have a unique feel to them. Glass jars are a classic look and the metal jar really ties into the fall theme.

Another way to add touches of fall is to incorporate different textures. A great way to do this is with blankets. They also have a dual purpose. They look great thrown on the back of a chair or in a basket, and they keep you warm during the cooler fall days. A knit blanket with fringe on the ends is a great way to add some texture.

I hope you enjoyed reading about some of my fall decor picks. I would love to hear how you add touches of fall in your homes!

Front Door Update

We have a new front door and we couldn't be more excited! As I said in my previous post, there are a few things we want to do to improve our curb appeal and a new front door was one of them. Well, we can cross one thing off our list. We also now have a working doorbell, win!

Here is our new door!

It's not completely done, we still need to paint around it and add trim, but we are so happy with how it looks!

We weren't looking for a front door when we got it. We were at Home Depot getting a new back door and we saw this front door on major sale. It was too good to pass up. We knew we wanted a new one eventually so we got it!

Little by little we are updating our curb appeal!

I'll update as we continue adding things so check back soon!

Curb Appeal

Curb appeal is an aspect of design that some people forget about. It's not the interior of a house so it's sometimes not associated with interior design. However, it is still design. I love driving around looking at houses and admiring the look from the outside. I love looking at landscaping, house colors, and front porches.

Enhancing the curb appeal of our house is on our to-do list. We love the way our house looks on the outside, but there are some updates we want to do.

This is our house currently.

There isn't a ton we want to do, but just enough to make it look updated. We aren't changing anything about the house itself, however, we are getting a new front door. We want to pull up the green bushes by the front window and the big tree by the driveway. The huge bush by the steps needs some serious trimming. We are waiting to see if the leaves fall before we do too much to it.

Adding some flowers and small shrubbery in the front and along the walkway is also on our list. We would love to do a brick paver along the walkway and the steps and have also talked about adding a railing along the steps and the porch.

These are all things we will change over time. We have a few other projects we want to tackle inside that will probably take priority.

Check back soon for an update on our front door! We are installing it this weekend and I am so excited!

Fall Decor

As we are entering into fall, it is the perfect time to switch things up in our homes. An easy way to do that is to add some fall colors. To do this you don't need to completely redo a room. There's no need to repaint walls or even get new furniture. Adding fall colors is as easy as switching up accessories. These can be pillows, picture frames, or even kitchen towels. It is really easy to change things up between seasons. I want to share some of my favorite ways to do this as well as some of my favorite colors for fall.

An easy way to switch up the look of a room is with pillows. Here are a few pillows that I found that add some fall feel to a room.

As you can see, these pillows aren't all the same pattern or color. There are different ways to incorporate fall. Autumn colors are a great way to transition into the season. Blues and oranges and golds are perfect. Another way is to add neutrals. Beige and grey work well. Plum is also a great fall color. Tribal prints are very popular for this time of year so adding some of those is a nice way to bring in the fall feeling. All of these pillows are from Target and would be a great addition to your fall decor.

Another great way to incorporate fall is with wall decor.

These are some really fun decorations all from Hobby Lobby. Each one has incorporated fall colors. Chalkboard art and wood are two great trends for fall. The banner would look great over a fireplace or even strung inside a large picture frame. It's fun to get creative with seasonal decor.

Last but not least let's talk about the kitchen. There are many ways to add some fall into your kitchen. One way is with towels. I've talked about it before; towels are a great way to change up the look of your kitchen. Here are some of my favorites.

I love these towels. The first one is perfect with the print. The color is a nice neutral which is great. The next one is a plaid and what's more fall than plaid. Then we have leaves. I love the white in the background with the beautiful fall colored leaves. Simple but still perfect for the season. Finally we have a turkey. Turkeys and plaid, that's fall! I love the colors in the towel, the gold and blue are so pretty together. These towels are from World Market and Kohls.

I hope this helped you discover some simple ways to transition your home into this next season. Fall is one of my favorite times of year and I love decorating for it.

Our Dining Table

Everyone has that one piece of furniture in their house that they love. Well, ours is our dining table. We got it custom built from Designs by The Chick N' Coop located in The Urban Barn in downtown Mansfield. If you live in the area you should definitely check out this store. They have some really unique pieces and fun home accents.

When we were looking for a dining room table we knew we wanted something unique. We looked online and at local furniture stores but we couldn't find anything that stood out to us. I really wanted a farmhouse looking table and in my head I had it all designed I just needed to find it in person. My sister took me to The Urban Barn one day and I fell in love with a table they had on display. It was exactly what I had pictured in my head.

The color is exactly what I wanted. It's dark but not too dark and has a rustic look and feel. I love the trestle bottom, it adds a farmhouse feel which I love. We decided to add a bench on one side instead of having chairs on all four sides and I am so glad we did! It makes it feel a little bit more casual, but the chairs we picked gives it balance. The chairs are a bit more formal so it adds a nice contrast to the rustic feel of the table.

If you live near the Mansfield area I highly recommend visiting The Urban Barn and checking out Designs by The Chick N' Coop. I know you will love their pieces as much as I do!
