Kitchen Reveal

I'm finally writing this post! I'm so excited to share our kitchen reveal with you! We still have a few things we want to do, but it is a huge difference from where it was! We didn't do anything structural, it was just cosmetic. We lucked out with our kitchen having pretty decent cabinets, just not our color choice, and nice black granite counters. So we got to keep those two things and just paint and change out hardware!

Ok, here are the before pictures.

So this was our kitchen before we updated it. The only thing we had changed was the wall color. It was red on the wall by the stove and a beige color on the other wall by the fridge. We painted the whole downstairs the same color, Silver Strand by Sherwin Williams. I love this color.

Here is our kitchen now, after paint and new hardware.

The cabinet color is Extra White by Sherwin Williams and the hardware was from Amazon. We had such a hard time finding these cabinet handles. I searched everywhere and finally found them on Amazon. The drawer pulls were also from Amazon.

So with a few coats of paint and a lot of hard work, we transformed our kitchen to a light and bright cooking space.

There are still a few things we want to do, such as install a backsplash. I want to do a subway tile backsplash with darker grout. We also want to either replace the pantry doors or paint them and we will be adding white trim when we install new floors. Eventually we want to replace the appliances with stainless steel and maybe get a new sink faucet. I would love to get a new ceiling light as well. The one we currently have doesn't give off the best light and it's a bit outdated.

As you can see, some white paint can go a long way when updating your kitchen. Since we didn't replace the cabinets or counters, this was a reasonably inexpensive project. It was a lot of work, but it was so worth it!

Here is a list of sources for our kitchen:

Cabinet door handles

Drawer pulls

Kitchen rug- Target

Olive oil dispenser- World Market (Can no longer find online)

Wooden crate- TJ Maxx

"You Wash I'll Dry" Sign- Hobby Lobby

Cookbook holder- Hobby Lobby

Ceramic Cow- Kohls

I hope you enjoyed seeing this before and after of our kitchen! If you have any other questions that I may not have answered feel free to comment below or come find me on instagram @stylenestinteriors and we can chat there :)

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday! It's time for Friday Favorites and I've got some fun stuff to share!

Let's start with some clothes. I have to add some clothing items in here, I can't help it!

1. Target Tees

I love these basic tees from Target. They are so comfortable and a staple in my wardrobe. There are so many pretty colors and when they are on sale for 3 for $20, you can't beat it!

Moving on to some makeup...

2. IT Cosmetics Foundation

I recently tried IT Cosmetics foundation and I am in love. I love the way it feels on my skin and the coverage is really nice. I feel like it's light enough for summer and it has SPF 50 which is awesome! I use both the liquid and the pressed powder and love them both. I want to try the confidence in a compact next.

Ok, now for some home stuff.

3. Pastels

I love pastels in the spring! They are so pretty and cheerful. I like adding touches of pastels throughout my home.

This crate tray was from the Target dollar section and I added these pretty purple/blue flowers in my World Market vases. This is an easy way to add some spring pastels to your decor.

I hope you enjoyed reading about some of my favorites! I think I'm going to be adding clothing and some cosmetic favorites here and there. I said at the beginning of the year that I wanted to add some lifestyle content to my blog, so this is a fun way to do that! I hope you enjoyed this post and if you have any questions or if you've tried either of the first two products let me know in the comments! :)

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday! I'm excited to share some items with you that I have been loving. Some are not decor related but I couldn't resist sharing with you! Here we go!

1. Beauty Items

I have been loving NYX Butter Gloss. It's my favorite gloss right now. It feels so good on your lips, not sticky but very smooth. The colors are so pretty and they are not expensive at all! These are the colors I have; Vanilla Creme Pie, Creme Brulee, and Cupcake. Run, don't walk, and get yourselves some.

Another beauty item I have been loving lately is Simple's face lotion with SPF. I have a really hard time finding a face lotion that doesn't irritate my skin. I have really sensitive skin and even Cetaphil will irritate my face. This stuff, however, doesn't bother my skin and moisturizes is nicely. I also like that there is an SPF in it. It feels like I'm doing something good for my skin.

2. Texture

I love added texture in decor. I'm working on something for our master bedroom that will hopefully, if it turns out the way it is in my head, add some texture and dimension. There are so many ways to add texture, it's fun to get creative! I love these Magnolia Home pillows. This is a great example of some really pretty texture.

3. Pretty Stationary

I love notebooks and notecards and pretty pads of paper. It's a problem. But I can't help myself when I see some pretty stationary, I have to have it! These are two I liked from Rifle Paper Co.

I hope you enjoyed reading about some of my favorite things lately. I'd love to hear what some of your favorites are at the moment, comment below!

Farmhouse Bedroom Ideas

It's no surprise that I love the farmhouse style. Even if you don't know me that well, by looking at my past posts I think it is pretty clear that I have a mild obsession with all things farmhouse. I think my personal style would be more accurately described as modern farmhouse, but farmhouse still. One of the project on our list of to-do's is our master bedroom. There's not much that needs done in there, some new paint, carpet eventually, and some new decor and styling. So, I wanted to put together some farmhouse style bedroom items to share. Enjoy!

The main thing that most of these items have in common is wood elements. The bed has a natural wood look, the sign has a wood frame, the vases are attached to pieces of wood and then the nightstand is also wood. Incorporating this natural element is an easy way to tie in farmhouse style.

Texture is another great way to achieve the farmhouse look. The bedding here has some nice texture that adds some interest. The vases and the flowers add some dimension and texture as well.

I love the wood and metal look on this nightstand too. The mix of these two materials adds interest and it brings in the modern farmhouse look.

All of these items are great examples of some ways to bring in some farmhouse elements. Wood, texture and dimension, and mixed materials like wood and metal are some things you want to look for if you are trying to achieve the popular farmhouse style.

I hope this gave you some inspiration!

Don't forget about my sale going on right now! 30% off all storyboards with code BUNNY through Easter!

Happy Spring Decorating!

Happy first day of spring! I love this time of year. It's when the flowers start blooming and the sun comes out of hibernation. There is so much to love about spring. Not to mention the fun floral patterns that have hit the stores everywhere. You can see floral prints in all departments not just in home decor. I personally love this trend. Adding florals is not the only spring trend. You will find fun colors everywhere as well! I am all for adding some spring cheer in my home. I've gathered a few of my favorite spring inspired pieces to share with you! Click on the images in the text to go to the link of each item.

Let's start with these pillows. Both are from Target and under $25.

I love the colors and the color contrasts in this navy and pink pillow. The floral design is simple but so pretty. It would look great with some solid pillows on a couch or alone on a chair.

I love the botanical look of this one. This look is so popular right now and this is a great way to incorporate the trend in your home.

These next two blankets are from TJMaxx and under $20.

This first throw is so pretty for spring with both the spring colors and a gorgeous floral pattern. I love this blanket!

This next blanket would be great for a kids room or even just a living room. The pattern is so fun with the arrows and the colors make it great for spring!

The last two items are for your walls and are both from TJ Maxx again. The wall calender is $19.99 and the floral art is $49.99.

This dry erase calendar is perfect for spring. Everything from the print to the colors to the wood frame makes this one of my favorites. It's a fun way to stay organized too. This would be a great addition to a command center or office and it could even be used to keep track of your spring cleaning schedule!

Lastly, let's talk about this beauty. I love floral prints and this one is definitely one to love. The colors are so pretty and the contrast to the wood makes it even more unique. This piece also has both of the spring trends I mentioned, pretty colors and a floral design. That makes this piece a must have!

I hope this gave you some inspiration to incorporate some of these spring trends in your home. With colors and fun florals you can't go wrong!
